HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Our monthly prices range from $80 to $120 depending on your fitness goals. There are further 15% discounts for families, couples, students and active duty military. Classes cost between $6 and $20 depending on which option you choose. For details see “Schedule/Rates.”
WHAT IS THE DROP IN/VISIT FEE?
If you’re an experienced CF’er visiting from out of town you can do your first visit free (or be nice and bring us a T-shirt from your box). Subsequent visits are $20. There’s also a week pass available for $50.
We refer to our daily workouts as “Workouts of the Day” or a WOD. These will be updated the night before and can be found under the “WOD” tab.
WHAT IS RX?
RX refers to performing a WOD at the prescribed (RX’ed) weight, repetition, and/or time. RX should be used as the highest weight possible and you will likely need to reduce the workout, with the guidance of our trainers, to a level that’s appropriate for you.
WHAT ARE THOSE FUNNY ACRONYMS AND ABBREVIATIONS YOU GUYS USE?
Your coach will walk you through the workout, you are not expected to memorize all of the “CrossFit Acronyms.”
WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW A MOVEMENT OR THE WEIGHT IS TOO HEAVY?
We design our workouts under the assumption that MOST PEOPLE cannot complete them as prescribed. We want our athletes to learn the exercises safely and that often means reducing the weights to an appropriate level which should be decided upon by one of our trainers.
I’M A WOMAN. WILL LIFTING WEIGHTS “BULK” ME UP?
There is a common misconception that lifting weights will give women massive shoulders and huge arms. With CrossFit, you will have better tone and build lean muscle mass, but you will still look feminine, we promise! To learn more about weightlifting and female athletes read this article.
I’M A RUNNER, CYCLIST, GOLFER, TENNIS PLAYER, ETC., WHY SHOULD I DO CROSSFIT?
Every specialized athlete has clear deficiencies. CrossFit will target your weaknesses and improving these areas will make you a dramatically better sport-specific athlete.
HOW IS CROSSFIT DIFFERENT THAN P90X
- P90X only lasts 90 days and is repetitive, CrossFit lasts a lifetime and is constantly varied
- P90X provides standard programming that you learn from a video, CrossFit gives you hands on instruction with certified trainers
- CrossFit creates functional results through constantly varied functional movements practiced at high intensity, P90X practices isolated movements that have little functional value and create little neuroendocrine response
